Preview: The Line band plays Mixer tonight
Fans of the “man in black” can fill their cowboy boots this evening at the Mixer when Johnny Cash tribute band The Line takes to the stage to play some of the country legend’s favourites, including Big River, Rusty Cage, Boy Named Sue and Folsom Prison Blues.
The band, which has also played to packed houses at the Cumberland Arms and Bridge Hotel, will be joined on stage by special guest Joanna Clark – Newcastle’s very own “June Carter Cash”. Supporting The Line this evening will be Alex Ross and his band, playing tracks from his recent album “Twilight Years of Venkat” as well as some fresh material for a forthcoming project.
It’s the latest night of entertainment at Jesmond’s new cross-arts venue, the Mixer, above the Royal British Legion on West Jesmond Avenue. Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are £5 (£4 concession).
