Open air theatre in Jesmond – tonight!
Warwickshire-based theatre company Heartbreak Productions opens its summer season of open-air performances this evening at 6.30pm at Coleman’s Field in Jesmond Dene.
Heartbreak kicks off the season with four performances over this weekend of Pinocchio, Dani Carbery’s contemporary adaptation looking to “avoid the sugary sentimentality of Walt Disney’s fairytale and carries to the stage a fresh, lively adaptation of Carlo Collodi’s 19th century book, which draws its inspiration from the scout movement”.
Listen below to our interview with director Peter Mimmack.
From 7th July Heartbreak will be performing Pride and Prejudice, before finishing its time in Jesmond with The Taming of the Shrew, which will run from 26th to 28th.
You can book tickets now via Heartbreak’s website.
