Lifestyle programme challenges ladies to be fit and fab
A new fitness and lifestyle programme for women has arrived in Jesmond this week.
Fit&Fab – which launched on Wednesday night – offers group sessions for ladies over the course of 10 weeks, with coaching in exercise, healthy eating and personal styling.
Classes, which are targeted at businesswomen in their early 30s who lead a busy or hectic lifestyle, take place on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Jesmond Methodist Church, on St. George’s Terrace. A further class takes place on Thursday nights in Belmont, near Durham.
Fit&Fab is the brainchild of Allyson McCourt, a style consultant, and Paul Edgar, a personal trainer who coaches his clients in both fitness and nutrition.
“A lot of the ladies with whom I work have issues about the way they look, and often talk to me about diet and exercise. So I thought that I could combine my work with what Paul does,” McCourt told JesmondLocal.
“What I aim to do is to make people feel the very best of themselves, inside and out. I’ll help them understand how to dress to complement their body shape and hopefully they’ll walk away feeling more confident about themselves.
“People are told ‘Wear this colour this season’, but I want to show them what style works for them all the time.”
McCourt has worked as a style consultant since 2008, following several years in the hair and fashion industry. She is a qualified hairdresser, which she also teaches in colleges. Edgar has been a personal trainer with Body and Mind Fitness Company since 2004.
“It’s about feeling good on the inside and looking good on the outside,” added McCourt. “It’s about making a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. Look after yourself and you’ll always look good.”
The price of the full 10-week course is £300. To book a place on Fit&Fab, contact Paul Edgar on 07990583034 or Allyson McCourt on 07725472827. You can also visit the Fit&Fab Facebook page.
