Jazz supper set to swing the night away
Jesmond Dene House is hosting its monthly Jazz Supper on Friday 30th November. The hotel will turn the Great Hall into a jazz club to serve a three course meal and an evening of jazz entertainment.
The “Rat Pack and swing” themed evening will be performed by resident act the Paul James band from Newcastle with jazz singer Josh Mclean in accompaniment.
The music will be a combination of old hits and more recent songs, with Mclean singing a collection from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin. For a more modern jazz twist he will also perform numbers from Jamie Cullum and Michael Buble.
Band member Paul James told JesmondLocal: “It’s fantastic to play a collection of music to the audience where we see regular faces that return again and again.”
The Paul James band is a five piece North East function band which regularly performs at Jesmond Dene House for weddings and other functions. They perform a wide range of genres from jazz to rock and pop, including old and new jazz at their Jazz Supper events.
Another band member, Laura Adams, said: “We have the pleasure of performing at some great events but for me, this is the most enjoyable gig that we do.”
The Jazz Supper event starts at 7 pm with live music beginning at 8pm. The event finishes at 11pm and is £39.50 per person.
The band will also be performing at Jesmond Dene House on the 13thDecember for a Festive Jazz Supper. If you would like further information on the event please contact Jesmond Dene House on 01912123000.
