Christmas Festivities in Jesmond
With the Christmas season well and truly underway, JesmondLocal brings you a quick outline of everything coming up in Jesmond over the next couple of weeks.
Saturday 8th is a day full of festivities. St George’s church will hold their Christmas fair in the church hall starting at 2pm.
West Jesmond Primary School, meanwhile, will hold their Christmas fair between 2 and 4pm.
The United Reformed Church on Burdon Terrace is holding a Christmas concert ‘In Dulcio Jubilo’ at 7.30pm. It will be performed by Cappella Novocastriensis with Quintessential Brass and Durham Cathedral Young Singers.
Tickets (including refreshments) are £12, £9, £6 and are available from Windows (0191 232 1356) from the Church Office (0191 281 4676) or at the door.
Next week, on Saturday 15th, Jesmond Vale Resident’s Association invite you to come and decorate the Jesmond Vale Yuletide Tree with ribbons. It will be on the village green, opposite Holy Trinity Church. Bring your own ribbon, seasonal refreshments and candle if you can.
In the evening, Newcastle Singers will hold a Christmas concert starting at 7.30pm at the Holy Trinity Church, Churchill Gardens. Tickets are available on the door.
And finally, on Monday 17th at 7.30pm is St George’s Church candlelit Christmas concert. Enjoy classical music with mulled wine and mince pies. Attendees are advised to book tickets in advance: telephone 0191 277 8003.
