As part of continuing JesmondLocal‘s International Women’s Day celebrations, which have been running on Instagram over the last week, we are interviewing influential women in Jesmond along several key themes.

Alex Fearon represents women who do brilliant work in the field of technology.

Fearon is a digital strategist for Donr, based in Jesmond. Donr was founded in order to give charities equal access to digital innovation, as they found charities struggle to adapt to developing technologies.

The company allows people to use text giving; by texting a keyword and donation amount, which will then be added to their phone bill or deducted from their credit with no sign up fees. 

As a digital strategist, Fearon helps make the tech platform developments understandable and accessible for charity clients and general consumers. She also helps develop support materials and trains charities in the community in digital communications and fundraising.

As well as this, Alex has also completed an internship at Future Cape Town, a non-profit organisation that promotes democracy and aims to create more equitable, progressive and bold cities.
