Candidates for North and South Jesmond local election 2022 announced
The candidates for the North and South Jesmond council have been confirmed by Newcastle City Council. The local elections will take place on May 5th.
There is one council seat available in both wards. Five candidates will be campaigning for the North Jesmond seat, while there are four participants fighting for the position in South Jesmond.
In North Jesmond, standing for the Liberal Democrats is Philip John Browne. The Labour and Co-operative Party is being represented by Stella Rogers Postlethwaite. Dom Eiben is representing the Reform UK Party. The candidate standing for the Green Party is Shehla Khatoon Naqvi and the candidate nominated for The Conservative Party is Aaron Stewart Whelan Harvey.
The candidates for the South Jesmond Ward are Tom Appleby for the Liberal Democrats and Joshua Thomas Clark for the Conservative Party. Laura Elizebeth Cummings is the candidate standing for the Labour and Co-operative Party and Tim Dowson is the Green Party’s candidate.
From now until election day, on May 5th, JesmondLocal will publish a profile on each contender for both wards. We will also hold a hustings event in Jesmond Library on the evening of Tuesday May 3rd.
