JesmondLocal hosts election hustings debate tonight
JesmondLocal is hosting its annual local election hustings event at Jesmond URC on Burdon Terrace this evening (Tuesday May 2nd), from 7:45pm to 9:45pm.
It’s a Question-Time style event where residents of North and South Jesmond have the chance to put questions to the candidates standing for the council seats up for election on May 4th.
With 13 candidates in total standing for election across North and South Jesmond wards, there will be a variety of views and opinions to take into consideration before casting your vote.
A wide range of local topics will be discussed and the structure of the event allows for candidates standing in both North and South Jesmond to speak on issues that are important to their wards.
The event is not ticketed, though seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. For those unable to come along to the event in person, JesmondLocal student reporters Rosie Edwards and Darcy Nathan will be summarising the main discussion points in the live blog below:
