Honour Health, a family-run, independent dental group based in Jesmond, has won the title of Best Team at the Dentistry Awards 2024.

“I am delighted,” said Dr Onkar Dhanoya, principal dentist at the practice. “These accolades reflect what a truly talented, committed group of people we have working at Honour Health.”

Dr Dhanoya, who has been in leadership of the Honour Health group for the past 38 years, opened the first of three practices in Stanley in 1986. This was followed by the opening of the Jesmond practice in 2001 and a further one in Ponteland in 2005.

“We are delighted to have been helping our patients achieve smiles they love for more than three decades now,” said Dr Dhanoya. “We have always continually invested in our team, the latest equipment and facilities, and we are looking forward to embarking on exciting plans for 2025 and beyond as the world of digital dentistry continues to evolve.”

Dr Dhanoya praised “the varied patient base here in Jesmond – from young families to students and young professionals and retirees” for their support of the practice.

The Honour Health Group has also been shortlisted in the categories of Best Patient Care, Best Practice and Best Team at the Private Dentistry Awards 2024.

With almost 40 years of service as a dentist in Jesmond, Dr Dhanoya told JesmondLocal the most rewarding part of the job for him is helping patients feel happy with their smiles. “It makes a huge difference – not only to their dental health and wellbeing – but also to their confidence,” he said.

“I have seen several generations of families come through the doors,” Dr Dhanoya added. “We are always grateful for their feedback, and it is a huge compliment when they recommend us to their family members and friends.”

Honour Health group also takes part in regular charity initiatives, including their annual Christmas appeal. Supporting their local community, the dental group donates regularly to a Newcastle food bank to help ensure that the most vulnerable in the community are cared for.
