Local dental practice ‘thrilled’ with national award shortlisting
A local independent dental practice is all smiles after being shortlisted for three national awards.
Honour Health Jesmond, based on Osborne Road, have been nominated for Team of the Year, Practice Manager of the Year, and Best Practice Care at the Private Dentistry Awards (PDA).
Claire Porter, marketing manager of Honour Health, said that the nominations are a “testament”’” to the team’s dedication to a patient-centered culture. She told JesmondLocal: “It reflects our shared commitment to delivering outstanding care.”
She added: “The strong team spirit and community involvement is what makes our Jesmond team special.”
The annual Private Dentistry Awards, hosted by FMC, who provide media and services for the dental industry, celebrates clinical excellence in 15 categories across the seven major regions of the UK. Nominees are chosen for exceptional skills, patient care, and community contributions.
Vicky Beacher, the practice’s lead dental nurse and administration manager, is among eight other shortlisted in the North region for Practice Manager of the Year. Beacher said that she was ‘truly thrilled’ to be: “This recognition reflects our continued dedication to delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards across our practices.”
Beacher added: “Our teams have made us so proud.”

The 2025 nominations follow Honour Health being crowned the Best Team at the 2024 awards, as JesmondLocal previously reported. Since their win last year, the practice has invested in staff training, enhanced patient communication, and introduced new technologies.
Porter said that their award last year was a ‘huge motivation’ for the team to continue ‘raising our standards’. Ms Porter said: “These changes have helped us provide an even better patient experience.”
The Jesmond practice opened their doors in 2001, after Honour Health was established in 1986 by Newcastle University graduate dentist Dr Onkar Dhanoya. It provides both NHS and private dental care as well as aesthetic treatments, such as teeth whitening and veneers.
Formerly known as Osborne Dental Group, the group also operates branches in Stanley and Ponteland. Stanley has also been shortlisted for Team of the Year.
Porter said Honour Health is continuously “looking for ways to innovate” the practice with new treatments and improving preventative care. She explained: “We have some exciting plans for expanding our range of skin treatments and enhancing patient education through blogs and digital resources. Our focus remains on combining clinical excellence with compassionate care.”
Honour Health Jesmond is involved in various charity initiatives, such as their annual Christmas appeal, donations to Newcastle Food Bank and PPE equipment to local hospitals, and educational lessons in local primary schools.
The awards ceremony will be taking place on Friday at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, where winners across the UK will be announced.
