Readers of Runner’s World magazine last month voted Newcastle upon Tyne the country’s best city for running – and Jesmond Dene figures in many people’s favourite running routes.

Ahead of this weekend’s Great North Run, JesmondLocal went for a jog with local runner Simon Zabrocki to create this short film on why pounding the paths of Jesmond Dene is such a popular and special pastime.
