St Hilda’s autumn fair brings in the locals

St Hilda’s Church held their annual autumn fair this weekend.

Regular churchgoers as well as members of the local community attended the fundraising event at Thornleigh Road in Jesmond, all with the intention of raising money for the church.

The fair proved popular, with many queuing up outside before the doors opened at 10.30am.

Guests had the opportunity to buy donated items, such as books, bric-a-brac and even homemade jam, with all profits going to the church fund. Visitors were also invited to enjoy morning tea and refreshments as they browsed the stalls of goods, which were run by volunteers.

Reverend Christine Crompton said of the event, “It’s nice to see friends coming to support the church as a community.”
