The dissolution of parliament this week marks the official start of the 2015 general election campaign. The day after David Cameron and Ed Miliband participated in the leader debates, the first centrepiece event of this election cycle, JesmondLocal took to the streets.

According to national opinion polls the outcome of the election is too close to call with no party likely to muster enough seats to form an overall majority. With voting intentions so split across the country asked Jesmond residents if this national trend played out locally.
