Jesmond-launched beauty clinic expands to London

The north east entrepreneur who founded Newcastle Skin Clinic in Jesmond has expanded her business from the north east to the capital.

Luisa Scott opened Newcastle Skin Clinic on Jesmond Road West in 2014. She had worked as a surgical nurse for the NHS but her interest in non-surgical aesthetics grew into a passion and she became a trained beauty therapist.

“I think my job is the perfect way to combine nursing and beauty,” she says. Scott decided to switch into full-time aesthetics and moved to London to be at the heart of the industry, becoming a resident aesthetic nurse practitioner in the MediSpa at Harrods.

“I always dreamed of coming back to my home town, setting up a clinic there and using the skills and experience I had learnt in the capital. The opportunity came up to lease a building in Jesmond and as soon as I walked in, it just felt right and I fell in love with the premises.”

As the business grew, Scott relocated the clinic this year to Gym Etc in Team Valley and opened another site in the Metropolitan House office scheme in Swalwell. “We’d outgrown the Jesmond premises and wanted to find a more permanent location to expand our offer and provide our clients with services like unlimited free parking.”

And now Scott has returned to London to open another surgery, in Belgravia. “Most of my Jesmond clients were local to Jesmond and Gosforth areas, but some would travel from as far as Carlisle, York and Scotland. I’ve even had clients come from New Zealand to my London clinic.”

Newcastle Skin Clinic offers a range of treatment such as Botox, hydration injections and dermal fillers. Scott says some of her clients call her “Luisa Lips” because of her work with lip fillers and full face rejuvenation. In the past 18 months, Scott says Newcastle Skin Clinic has been a finalist in 10 different award categories, including best non-surgical makeover.
