Photo released following Jesmond pool wallet theft

Northumbria Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to following a theft at Jesmond Swimming Pool last month.

The incident happened at around 9.30am on Wednesday March 13th when a wallet was stolen from a pair of trousers in the pool changing rooms.

Attempts to identify the person responsible are ongoing but so far the police have made no arrests. However, they are seeking a man who was present in the building at the time of the theft.

Northumbria police are circulating a CCTV image of the man, as they say he may be able to assist their investigation.

There were 529 accounts of “other theft” (defined as not from the person) in the Jesmond and Heaton areas between March 2018 and February 2019, accounting for 8.85% of all crimes over that period

This percentage is slightly less than in surrounding areas, such as Newcastle Central (9.49%) and Gosforth and Great Park (10.14%).

If you know the man in these images, then call police on 10, quoting reference 32538Y/19 or email 8608@northumbria.pnn.police.uk.
