JesmondLocal to host online election debate on May 4th

JesmondLocal is hosting a Zoom version of its traditional local election hustings on Tuesday May 4th from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

As in previous years, this will be a Question-Time style event where residents of North and South Jesmond will have the chance to put questions to all the candidates standing for the council seats up for election just a couple of days later, on May 6th.

With 10 candidates in total standing in North and South Jesmond, there will be a variety of views and opinions to take into consideration before casting your vote.

A wide range of topics will be discussed and the structure of the event will allow for candidates standing in both North and South Jesmond to speak on issues that are important to their wards.

This online event is free, but to be able to attend, you must register. Details of the Zoom link and passcode will be emailed to all registrants just a couple of hours before the event begins. We will also be emailing registrants with details of how they can put their questions to the candidates.

JesmondLocal will also have comprehensive coverage of the event on the night, with reporters live-blogging, as well as publishing follow-up stories from the night.
