Opera star to perform in Jesmond

Grammy Award winner Angelika Kirchschlager will be performing in the north east for the first time at an event in Jesmond hosted by arts charity Samling. The Austrian mezzo-soprano will be performing at the Royal Grammar School on Saturday 27th March 2010, accompanied by pianist Malcolm Martineau, Patricia MacMahon, Christopher Glynn, and seven young performers from Samling’s Masterclass Programme.

The concert will include arias and ensembles from some of the most famous operas, including Puccini’s La Bohème, Bizet’s Carmen, Strauss’s Die Fledermaus and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro.
