Geordie Shore will be ‘good for Jesmond’

The cast of Geordie Shore, the MTV reality show that will put Jesmond in the spotlight for the next few months, told JesmondLocal today that it will be good for the reputation of Jesmond and Newcastle as a whole. They also promised that Geordie Shore would be “more real and less boring” than rival reality TV shows such as The Only Way is Essex and Made In Chelsea.

JesmondLocal’s Sophie Bauckham, Katie Henry and Harriet Webb were invited to meet the eight cast members in the penthouse suite of the Malmaison hotel on Newcastle’s Quayside and highlights of their conversation included:

• The Geordie Shore stars’ favourite bars, restaurant, gyms… and dentists in Jesmond;
• How locals reacted to them during filming;
• And their hopes for a second series.

Watch our interview as we live-streamed it here:

Based on the successful American series Jersey Shore, Geordie Shore follows the highs and lows of eight 20-somethings who share a luxury home – a Victorian three-storey terraced house on Jesmond’s Carlton Terrace (thought to be no.9). “Geordie Shore promises tears, tantrums, drama and outrageous behaviour by the bucket-load,” says MTV. The first episode airs tomorrow (24th May) at 10pm on MTV.
