Chimney Sweep Theatre Company is hosting a “holiday activities for children” programme at Holy Trinity Studio, Jesmond, from Monday 29^th October to Friday 2^nd November.

The musical theatre company will run a five day course over the half-term week in which children will prepare the play: “The Wicked Witch of West Jesmond.” Participants will get the opportunity to learn and practise singing, dance and acting.

The children, ranging from five to eleven years of age, are from schools across the Jesmond area including Church High and West High.

Leanne Harrison, joint business partner of Chimney Sweep Theatre Company, told JesmondLocal: “The children will get the opportunity to audition one another, choose what roles they want to be and help to direct the play and finally perform it.”

Over the five days, the children will help create their own costumes, whilst also directing and performing in the play, which will be shown on Friday 2nd.

Chimney Sweep Theatre Company business partners Leanne Harrison and Mark Morris will run further holiday activities during the Christmas holiday period.

The company also runs a theatre school every Saturday from 9.30am to 12.30pm during term time in which children from five to twelve can sing, dance and act. The classes are split into five-to-seven-year-olds and eight-to-twelve-year-olds at Holy Trinity Studio.
