St Hilda’s to host Festival of Decorated Christmas Trees

St Hilda’s Church is holding a Festival of Decorated Christmas Trees this Saturday, with participants competing to have their tree named the best.

The aim is to decorate a tree as an individual, a group or business using any theme or idea. The festival is open to all ages.

Visitors nominate the trees they want to win, and there are prizes for the most popular.

The festival starts at 11am on Saturday 1st December and concludes at 4.30pm. Carol singing will then take place at 5pm surrounded by the decorated trees, during which the winning tree will be announced.

Last year there were many applicants, including Jesmond Community Forum and Jesmond Community Orchard. If you do not wish to enter, you can go along simply to view the decorated trees.

Entry forms are available from St Hilda’s Church in West Jesmond. The Church is open to receive entries on Thursday 29th November from 11am until 3pm, and again on Friday 30th from 11am until 7pm.
