This week JesmondLocal will be introducing – or reintroducing – Jesmond to its residents. We’ll be running down the best food, drink, social events and much more in the region, as part of #HelloJesmond week.

Newcastle’s very own “Central Park” – Jesmond Dene – means no shortage of great long and short runs for joggers and serious runners alike. This is how our favourites line up:

1.  A loop that skirts the edge of the Dene and pounds through the heart of Jesmond (3.3k)

2.Up and down the Dene, into Armstrong Park, across Jesmond Vale and back to your starting point on Rosebery Avenue green (4.4k)

3. High Heaton, Paddy Freeman’s Park, Castles Farm Road and into the Dene, exiting into Armstrong Park and back to Heaton (6k)

4. Starting at Newcastle University, along Jesmond Road, then Jesmond Dene Road, past Jesmond Dene House and onto the Grandstand Road and across the Town Moor (7.3k)

5. Town Moor, Jesmond, Sandyford, Quayside (10K)
