Jesmond Community Festival-goers were invited to let off some vocal steam at the third annual Jesmond Debate. The topic. “Can there be a just war?” was discussed by a range of guests including Newcastle University’s Graham Long and Peter Breakey of Northumbria University.

The debate represents Jesmond’s centennial commemoration of the First World War and keen debaters discussed various issues related to war and its ethics.
