Jesmond Community Orchard’s sixth annual Apple Day will be held on Saturday October 11th at West Jesmond Allotment, celebrating all things apple.

The community event, which begins at 1pm, will include tastings of apple varieties, a competition to see who can keep the longest continual peel from the fruit, facepainting and storytelling for children, and a demonstration from Newcastle’s beekeepers, and beverage experts explaining how best to press apples for juice.

Alongside that will be apple experts, able to help identify windfall varieties picked from around Jesmond’s streets.
