Jesmond election hustings, Weds 25th April

Just a week before local election polling day, JesmondLocal will hold a “Vote Jesmond” live debate between North and South Jesmond candidates in front of an audience of local people at Café 1901 on St George’s Terrace, Jesmond – from 8pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday 25th April.

As in previous years, we will be running the event in a “Question Time” format and along clear guidelines to ensure that each candidate has the same opportunity and time to answer those questions.

The questions will be focused on local issues that impact directly on people living and working in Jesmond, rather than national politics.

If you have a question that you’d like to put to the candidates – or like us to put to them on your behalf – please post it in the comment section below, or email it to us.

If you aren’t able to make it along, you will still be able to follow the debate online, as we plan to live broadcast it on the JesmondLocal website.

We’re hoping that each of the candidates standing for election will agree to take part:

North Jesmond

James Bartle (Conservative)

Peter Breakey (Lib Dem)

David Hickling (Labour)

South Jesmond

Chris Boyle (Lib Dem)

Felicity Mendelson (Labour)

Tony Waterston (Green)
